S'il fallait vraiment reprocher quelque chose à Profane Doctirine, c'est que, ne se prenant pas assez au sérieux, il pouvait par moments faire penser à un catalogue (mais un très bon catalogue !) de ce que sait faire Mark Erskine. Problème réglé avec le premier album The Great Old Ones ! Il est vrai que le concept des monstres lovecraftiens n'est pas innovant en soi, mais le black metal symphonique prend de la hauteur, se fait spectaculaire, noble, fascinant et dangereux. Une belle progression !
